- Network Maintenance and Administration:
- Maintaining and administering computer networks, including hardware, software, and configurations.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Network Security:
- Implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Network Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Monitoring network performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, and making necessary adjustments.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup:
- Implementing and managing disaster recovery plans and data backups.
- Configuration and Deployment:
- Configuring and deploying network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Documentation:
- Creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Specific Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP), switching technologies (VLANs, STP), and network security protocols.
- Experience with network devices: Routers, switches, firewalls, and other network appliances.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools: Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.
- Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., NSX-T) is often preferred .
