Job Description

A Network Integration Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports Airtel's services. This involves integrating various network components, ensuring smooth communication between different systems, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. They work with a range of technologies including IP/MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:
Developing and implementing network architectures for IP/MPLS backbone networks, SDN/NFV, and cloud environments.
Integration and Configuration:
Integrating network components, configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, and ensuring seamless communication between different systems.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Identifying and resolving complex network issues, performing network maintenance, and upgrading systems.
Security:
Implementing and maintaining network security protocols, ensuring compliance with security policies, and integrating security controls into the network infrastructure.
Performance Optimization:
Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
Collaboration:
Working with cross-functional teams, including planning, engineering, and operations, to ensure successful network integration and delivery.
Documentation:
Creating and maintaining documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Vendor Management:
Engaging with vendors for equipment procurement, support, and maintenance.
Staying Up-to-Date:
Keeping abreast of the latest network technologies and best practices to ensure Airtel's network remains cutting-edge.

Required Skills and Experience:

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, etc.), network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), and network security principles.
Experience with SDN/NFV: Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies.
Cloud Networking: Experience with cloud-based networking solutions and technologies.
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address network challenges.
Relevant Certifications: Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP are often preferred.
Scripting and Automation: Experience with scripting languages like Python for automation tasks.
