Job Description

Summary

Monitors all aspects of IQOR Global IT infrastructures and is usually the first line of defense against any service unavailability.

Responsibilities

Detects all system anomalies as quickly as possible and accurately evaluate the severity of an incident to provide notification and status to the right audience. NOC also provides first tier troubleshooting.

Performs routine system Maintenance tasks as dictated by the schedule, Change Management process, and available documentation.

The NOC Engineer plays a key role on the Technology team monitoring and supporting for our Infrastructure service environment. Maintaining reliable, high performance and redundant infrastructure services is critical to the success of IQOR.

Regularly examines multiple monitoring systems for unexpected deviations.

Responds to alarms with well-defined procedures.

Escalates problems to the appropriate internal or external resource and follow up to resolution.

Assists System Engineers, DBAs, and network Administrators as requested on project or support tasks.

Manages SLAs while performing his/her daily activities.

Maintain quality records.

Performs maintenance on systems as needed.

Works with Telecommunication Service Providers to resolve escalated circuit problems to resolution.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2-4 years of work experience (preferably in NOC).

Understanding on both LAN and; WAN technologies.

Knowledge of basics of Servers and networks (Routing Protocols, Firewalls, etc.)

Understanding of networking concepts and components (DNS, DHCP, proxy, switches, routers, etc.).

Understanding of TCP/ IP and other networking protocols is essential.

Candidate should be willing to work in 24x7 rotating shifts.

Knowledge on tools like Nagios, Orion or any other monitoring tool would be preferred.

Any certification like CCNA, MCSE, MCP would be preferable. Experience in Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues.

Should have worked in an organization of a similar scale and complexity.

Flexible person with the ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements. Other Qualifications

Education Requirement Physical Requirements

Individual will be required to type and/or operate a computer and other office productivity machinery for extended periods of time. The person in this position may need to occasionally walk or otherwise traverse, stand, exert up to 10 lbs. of force to push, pull, lift or otherwise move objects, bend, reach, kneel, and/or twist for minimal periods of time. Employees should not attempt to lift, pull or push a load in excess of 50 lbs. without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, pushing or pulling in an awkward position.
