The Princely State of Travancore has granted sanction for the establishment of a Broadcasting Station at Thiruvananthapuram, on 30th September 1937. His Highness the Maharaja Travancore showed great interest in broadcasting and formed a committee of the top officials to evaluate the possibility of installing a Transmitter at the capital Thiruvananthapuram.
