Job Description

National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) invites application for the position Senior Research Fellow

No. of Post: 01

Eligibility: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum Number No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any other related field with at least two years post-Master’s research experience in molecular biology laboratory are eligible to apply. Candidates having research experience in the area of plant microbe interactions, genome editing/RNAi studies in plants, duly supported with relevant publications in standard journal (more than 3 impact factor) will be preferred.

The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidates against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of post shall be as per Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
