Job Description

Advertisement for JRF recruitment under GoI-ARDB -DRDO Project

1. Position title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Number of position(s): One

3. Project title: Development of novel B and C modified fillers for the gas tungsten arc welding of Ti alloys

4. Duration (in years): Two years from the date of joining (extendable until the end of project)

5. Essential qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ or equivalent degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/Mechanical Engineering & M.E./M.Tech/ or equivalent degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and related specializations with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA=6.5/10) in UG & PG to qualify under OC/OBC category and minimum 55% aggregate marks (CGPA=6.0) for candidates under SC/ST/PwD category. Note: GATE score is mandatory.

6. Desired qualifications: Prior knowledge of welding and joining of metals and understanding of welding metallurgy.

7. Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- per month for two years & Rs. 35,000/- per month for third year

8. Job nature: Candidate is expected to prepare fillers for gas tungsten arc welding process, prepare welds and characterize the welds for microstructure and mechanical properties.

9. Other benefits: The selected candidates are eligible to register for PhD degree at NIT, Warangal as per institute rules. However, s(he) needs to apply for PhD position when the advertisement is open.
