Node.js Developer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Backend Development
-
Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and associated frameworks like Express.js or Nest.js.

Build scalable and high-performance APIs and microservices.

Implement RESTful endpoints and integrate them with databases and third-party services.
2. Database Integration
-
Work with databases like MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Redis.
-
Design and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
-
Handle data modeling, migrations, and backup strategies.
3. API & Web Service Integration
-
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and handle webhooks.
-
Work with external APIs, payment gateways, and third-party services.
-
Ensure proper error handling, response formatting, and API versioning.
4. Real-time Communication & WebSockets
-
Implement real-time features using Socket.io, WebSockets, or similar tools.
-
Build chat, notification, or live update systems where applicable.
5. Code Quality & Best Practices
-
Write clean, modular, and reusable code following industry standards.
-
Use tools like ESLint, Prettier, and adhere to Git workflows.
-
Perform unit testing using tools like Mocha, Chai, Jest, etc.
-
Participate in code reviews and peer programming sessions.
6. Collaboration & Deployment

Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend logic with UI.

Work with DevOps teams for deploying applications using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Troubleshoot production issues and implement bug fixes.
Technical Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript (ES6/ES7/ESNext)

Frameworks: Express.js, NestJS (optional but preferred)

Databases: MongoDB, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis

Authentication: JWT, OAuth2, Passport.js

API tools: Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI

Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab

Deployment: Basic knowledge of Docker, PM2, or cloud services like AWS EC2, Heroku
