Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiration.

Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.

Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring healing progress.

Collect blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory testing.

Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and post-care instructions.

Medical Documentation

Accurately record patient information in medical records, including observations, administered medications, and any changes in condition.

Ensure confidentiality and privacy of all patient data in compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.

Maintain up-to-date patient charts for doctors and other medical staff to review.

Coordination with Healthcare Team

Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans.

Participate in patient case discussions and provide feedback based on direct patient interactions.

Report any sudden changes in a patient’s condition to the appropriate medical staff immediately.

Emergency Response
-
Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, such as cardiac arrest, strokes, or trauma.

Perform life-saving procedures such as CPR and first aid when necessary.

Prepare patients for surgery and assist during medical procedures when needed.

Health Education and Advocacy

Educate patients and the community on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and management of chronic illnesses.

Advocate for patient rights and ensure their physical and emotional needs are met.

Provide emotional support to patients and families, especially during difficult diagnoses or end-of-life care.

Administrative Tasks

Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.

Manage medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization of instruments and environments.

Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in patient rooms and clinical areas.
