Job Description
- BSc in Nursing with Min 7 Years of Experience or GNM with Min 10 Years of Experience.
- Oversee day-to-day nursing operations across wards/departments.
- Manage and lead nursing staff, including scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain nursing standards, infection control protocols, and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct training, mentoring, and continuous professional development of nursing staff.
- Collaborate with doctors and hospital administration for smooth clinical functioning.
- Monitor inventory and availability of medical supplies, equipment, and nursing resources.
- Handle grievances and maintain a healthy work culture among nursing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursing Staff Supervision and Management

Lead and supervise a team of nurses, nursing assistants, and support staff across various departments (wards, ICU, emergency, OT, etc.).

Plan duty rosters and allocate responsibilities to ensure adequate staffing at all times.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of the nursing staff and provide guidance, mentoring, and corrective feedback.

Ensure that the team adheres to professional conduct, discipline, and hospital standards.
2. Patient Care Oversight

Ensure that all patients receive timely, appropriate, and compassionate nursing care.

Monitor critical care patients, high-risk cases, and patients with special needs in collaboration with physicians.

Address patient concerns, complaints, or escalations related to nursing services and resolve them effectively.

3. Clinical Operations and Coordination

Coordinate with physicians, allied healthcare staff, and administrative departments for smooth patient care delivery.

Supervise ward rounds and ensure proper handovers between shifts.

Check medication administration records, nursing notes, and treatment charts for accuracy and completeness.

Ensure that infection control practices and clinical protocols are followed meticulously.
4. Training and Staff Development

Identify training needs and coordinate with nursing educators or HR to organize ongoing in-service training programs.

Provide orientation to new staff and continuously monitor their performance during the probation period.

Encourage continuous professional development and skill enhancement among the nursing team.
5. Inventory and Resource Management

Monitor the availability and proper usage of nursing supplies, medical equipment, medications, and consumables.

Maintain stock registers and ensure timely requisition of items.

Prevent wastage, pilferage, and misuse of resources.
6. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain and ensure accurate documentation of nursing activities, patient care records, incident reports, and audits.

7. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
