- Direct Patient Care:
- Provides basic and technical care to patients, including personal hygiene, feeding, and assisting with medical procedures.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitors patient conditions and records vital signs.
- Assessment and Planning:
- Assesses patient needs and develops and implements nursing care plans.
- Evaluates patient compliance with treatment plans and reports test results.
- Patient & Family Education:
- Educates patients and their families about managing illnesses, preventing disease, and post-hospital recovery.
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Coordinates care with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians and allied health personnel.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintains accurate and detailed patient records.
- Records medications administered, procedures performed, and other patient information.
- Supervision & Mentoring:
- Supervises and instructs other nurses, such as students or newly qualified staff.
- Health Promotion:
- Engages in health promotion activities to prevent illness and maintain health.
- Adherence to Policies:
- Ensures adherence to the healthcare facility's policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Assists with clinical tests and medical procedures, including preparation and post-procedure care.
