Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and tech-savvy Online Sales Executive to join our growing digital sales team. The Online Sales Executive will be responsible for generating revenue through online platforms, managing inquiries and orders, and converting leads into confirmed sales. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, digital platform knowledge, and a results-oriented mindset.

As an Online Sales Executive, you will handle inbound leads from websites, social media, and marketplaces, engage with potential customers through chats, emails, and calls, and maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure repeat business. You’ll also assist in optimizing listings, managing product catalogs, and working closely with marketing and operations teams to improve conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Handling & Customer Interaction

  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries received through the website, social media, WhatsApp, email, and third-party platforms.

  • Understand customer requirements, provide product/service information, and offer solutions based on their needs.

  • Follow up with potential buyers, address objections, and close sales confidently.

  • Handle live chats, direct messages, and emails professionally and courteously.

2. Order Management

  • Guide customers through the purchase process — from product selection to payment and confirmation.

  • Coordinate with logistics and support teams to ensure timely order processing and delivery.

  • Monitor pending orders, payment issues, and customer queries until closure.

  • Share invoices, product documentation, and order tracking details with customers.

3. Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Meet and exceed weekly/monthly online sales targets.

  • Upsell or cross-sell additional products or services wherever possible.

  • Encourage repeat purchases and build long-term relationships with customers.

  • Contribute to online campaigns by highlighting bestsellers, offers, and seasonal promotions.

4. E-commerce & Marketplace Support

  • Assist in maintaining product listings on company websites, Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, or other e-commerce portals.

  • Coordinate with the marketing team to keep product content, pricing, and images updated.

  • Track performance of online listings and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Work with backend teams to manage inventory and avoid out-of-stock issues.

5. Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with online customers.

  • Resolve post-sale issues such as returns, exchanges, delivery complaints, or product dissatisfaction.

  • Collect and analyze customer feedback to enhance online experience and service quality.

  • Maintain customer records and communication history in CRM tools or Excel.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports with lead status, conversions, and revenue performance.

  • Share insights on popular products, customer behavior, and sales trends with the sales and marketing teams.

  • Use tools such as Google Analytics, CRM dashboards, or Excel to track KPIs.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Communication Skills

Organizational Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple leads, chats, and inquiries simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate customer and order records.

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
