Job Description
Assist in patient registration, assessment, and triage based on medical urgency.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is available.
Assist doctors during medical examinations, minor procedures, and treatments.
Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV fluids as required.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and post-treatment care.
Monitor vital signs and record patient history and symptoms.
Ensure infection control and hygiene standards are maintained in the OPD.
Coordinate with laboratory and radiology departments for diagnostic tests.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the hospital system.
Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary.
Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
Assist in OPD inventory management and restocking of medical supplies.
Ensure proper disposal of biohazard waste as per safety regulations.
Participate in regular training and development programs.
Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Care:

Conduct initial assessments and triage of patients visiting the OPD.

Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiratory rate.

Take patient medical histories and document symptoms, helping the physician with diagnosis and treatment planning.

Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by the physician.

Assisting with Procedures:

Assist the doctor during medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and minor surgeries or treatments.

Prepare patients for procedures and provide emotional support to reduce anxiety.

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment and ensure sterile procedures are followed.

Patient Education and Counseling:

Educate patients about their health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.

Provide information on lifestyle changes, preventive care, and home care instructions.

Counsel patients on follow-up care and emphasize the importance of adherence to prescribed treatment plans.

Maintain up-to-date patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate for each visit.
