Job Description
-
Surgical instruments, drapes, and other equipment should be arranged in a sterile manner.
-
Checking OT table, lights, suction, anesthesia machine.
-
Helping in patient preparation (shaving, cleaning surgical site, positioning patient).
-
For the surgeon to open sterile packs.
-
Passing instruments to the surgeon (scrub assistant role).
-
Keep suction, sponges, sutures ready.
-
Maintaining count (gauges, instruments) so that no item is left inside the patient.
-
Have blood bags, IV fluids ready.
-
Providing required instruments or medicines quickly in an emergency.
-
Sending used instruments for safe disposal & sterilization.
-
Disinfecting the source table and floor.
-
To dispose of the waste as per Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules.

Preparing the source for the next case.

Sterilization & asepsis knowledge
-
Basic anatomy & medical terms understanding
-
Quick response under pressure
-
Teamwork aur discipline
-
Good physical stamina (Sometimes there are long surgeries)
-
Minimum: Diploma in OT Technology (DOTT) or Certificate in OT Assistance
