Job Description
1. L1/L2 Operations Engineer – FlowOne, UIV & NCOM Exp-4-5
Yrs
Role summary: The L1/L2 Operations Engineer monitors and operates the FlowOne, UIV
and NCOM platforms for existing fulfilment, lifecycle and inventory use‐cases. They manage
daily operational activities, check workflow executions across FlowOne and NCOM, ensure
inventory synchronisation with UIV, provide first and second-line troubleshooting, and
escalate issues to development or platform teams when necessary. The role does not
include cloud platform administration but requires awareness of basic platform concepts.
Key responsibilities:
● Monitor application health across FlowOne, NCOM and UIV: track dashboards,
alerts, job queues and resource statuses.
● Execute existing use‐cases: initiate service orders and lifecycle operations (create,
deploy, upgrade, scale, heal and terminate) using FlowOne and NCOM; verify that
inventory updates in UIV reflect the actual network.
● Incident handling: diagnose failed automation tasks; capture logs and timestamps;
classify whether the issue lies in FlowOne, NCOM, UIV or external platforms; raise
tickets and provide evidence for escalation.
● Troubleshooting: analyse lifecycle logs, API calls and payloads; check package
onboarding status; validate integrations among FlowOne, NCOM and UIV; re‐trigger
operations where permitted.
● Coordinate with platform teams: when failures are caused by Kubernetes, OpenStack
or
CNF/VNF runtime issues, gather evidence and hand over to platform owners.
● Maintain runbooks and SOPs: document standard operating procedures, known
issues and resolution steps; update after root‐cause analyses.
● Support change and release activities: participate in controlled changes to existing
use‐cases, such as package updates, configuration changes or integration
adjustments; validate results after upgrades.
Required skills and experience:
● Operational experience with NFV/MANO concepts: understanding of network
function lifecycle management, service descriptors and package onboarding.
● Hands‐on experience operating FlowOne, NCOM and UIV platforms or similar OSS
automation systems.
● Ability to interpret logs and API responses, troubleshoot REST or SOAP calls and
manage incidents following ITIL processes.
● Awareness of cloud platform basics (Kubernetes/OpenStack) to recognize external
causes of automation failures; competent with Linux for log collection.
● Strong communication and teamwork skills; willingness to work in shift patterns for
24×7 coverage.
Desirable skills:
● Experience with other Nokia Digital Operations products (Orchestration Center,
Assurance Center).
● Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs and data models.
● Ability to script simple tools or parsers in Python or Bash.
● Telecom background in core networks or service provisioning.
