About The Role
Execution of the Parts Approval Process (PAP) in accordance with the Doc 24 Plan and PAP activity harmonisation captured within the Global Planning Tool. Responsible for the appraisal and validation of the Supplier Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan, plus applicable SQA related documents. Generates all applicable PAP reports and manages supplier related Open Items with formal feedback (reports) to the SQA Office/Global open item tool.
Output of the Reviews such as FRACAS, CCB, Safety Board that require SSQE activities at the supplier will be executed by Senior SQA Engineering with support of the Global Lead SQA as applicable
Contributes to the Supplier Evaluation & Approval Process and drives special process assessments at the suppliers within the assigned commodity group. Actively Contributes in the definition of the specific commodity improvement transversal Projects/activities led by the Global Lead SQA (as part of the SME network) such as standardization, benchmark, process optimization, key productivity and efficiency levers identification and implementation and supports the execution of supplier governance assessments.
Participation in supplier selection activities for the assigned commodities by completing the quality section in the Offer Evaluation Tool (OET)
SQA Engineer will conduct appropriate problem-solving activities from the output of the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) Reviews. The lagging KPI will drive These activities will be built around robust problem-solving actions (8D) and continuous improvement activities including coaching and driving open items to conclusion (PDCA or any other appropriate methodology). In respect to the 8D resolution at a commodity level the Senior SQA Engineer will ensure direct support and input for critical (safety) and/or repetitive issues Utilises their knowledge, experience and expertise to support the Global commodity SQA network and Global Lead Buyer in relation to supplier benchmarking, performance development and commodity strategy. Using the common understanding of the expected outcomes from suppliers and means to get there, the SSQA will contribute with the Global commodity SQA network to bring best value from suppliers in implementing best practices, benchmarking suppliers strategic levers from one source to another and standardize, simplify, specify better across BT organisation and projects
Practical experience in supplier audits and management
Experience or similar competencies in BT’s Integrated Supplier Assessment Framework processes
Experience in Product /Quality Planning
Proven track records in Operational and Quality Methods (e.g. 6-Sigma, Lean, etc...)
Proven track record of working in SQA at a specialist level within a given commodity group
Qualifications
Knowledge of product assembly is a key requirement for this position.
Good Communication skills are essential as this position will require frequent interactions with the customer representative.
Bachelor degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality
