Job Description

Oracle Database Administrator- Chennai

Experience: 5 to 10 Years

Minimum 5+years of strong Oracle Databases Administration experience
Must have worked in 24/7 DBA support (production support)
Experienced in installing, configuring and administering Oracle Standalone Databases and also in RAC databases
Performing database reorganizations and archiving, Oracle read-only replication, Oracle high availability service, clustering and implementing disaster recovery solutions (i.e. RAC, standby databases, etc.)
Building new databases/schema and clone existing databases/schema for specific functions, reports, critical issue testing & resolution and performance testing
Managing logins and user accounts including assigning database object permissions and ancillary privileges (supporting application privileges)
Preparing DDL scripts and execute them in various (Pre-Production and Production) environments using cmd prompt, Toad etc.
Daily monitoring of Database and System resources, including disk space, tablespace and extent growth, memory usage, and overall database performance
Managing Automatic storage management, adding ASM disk storage and rebalance the ASM disk group
Proactively monitoring the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
Recovering from database failures using Oracle RMAN and FLASHBACK or other designated recovery utilities
Monitoring OEM and analyzing performance issues on Oracle Production jobs, including application and report specific queries to effectively tune SQL statements
Monitoring database performance, implement changes and apply new patches & versions when required
Managing the database activities for application releases and upgrades
Refresh and Clone databases using RMAN, export/import/Data Pump methodologies on Oracle Databases Administration

Experienced in Oracle Exadata

Experienced in supporting Golden gate replication

Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the database to include rollout and upgrades
