Position Overview
An Order Processing and Packing Associate is responsible for managing and executing a series of tasks related to order fulfillment. This includes packing items according to customer orders, processing inventory, loading and unloading products, and organizing stock in designated racks or storage locations. This role plays a crucial part in the supply chain and logistics operations of a business, ensuring that products are accurately picked, efficiently packed, and dispatched to customers or stored correctly in warehouses or stores.
This position requires a strong sense of organization, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work as part of a team. The associate must ensure that products are handled with care, orders are fulfilled accurately, and storage areas are maintained in an orderly and safe condition.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Processing

Receive and review customer orders through internal order management systems or manual lists.

Pick items from shelves or designated storage areas based on order details.

Verify product numbers, quantities, and specifications to ensure order accuracy.

Prepare and organize items for packing and shipping based on order requirements and customer instructions.

Flag any discrepancies or out-of-stock issues and report them to the supervisor or inventory manager.
2. Packing of Items

Carefully pack items in appropriate containers or boxes using proper packing materials such as bubble wrap, foam, or dividers to prevent damage.

Label each package with shipping labels, order information, barcodes, and any necessary handling instructions (e.g., "Fragile" or "Keep Upright").

Ensure all packages are sealed and ready for shipment or internal movement.

Maintain a clean and organized packing area and ensure packing tools and supplies are readily available.
3. Loading and Unloading

Assist with loading packed goods into delivery trucks, vans, or internal transport systems.

Use equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified) to safely transport products.

Unload incoming shipments and check for damage or missing items.

Match delivery invoices or bills of lading with actual inventory received and report any discrepancies.

Place items in their correct internal destination after unloading (e.g., shelves, racks, staging area).
4. Racking and Storage

Place products in designated locations within storage racks, shelves, bins, or store stock rooms according to company layout and system.

Maintain proper labeling on shelves and racks to ensure easy identification and retrieval.

Rotate stock using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) or Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) principles where required.

Monitor the condition of stored goods and report any damaged or expired inventory.

Assist with periodic inventory counts and restocking procedures as needed.
