The OT Staff Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of surgical procedures by assisting surgeons, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing pre- and post-operative care to patients. The OT Staff Nurse is responsible for patient preparation, instrument management, and support during surgery, while ensuring all safety protocols and medical standards are strictly followed.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
- Medication Administration: Administering prescribed medications according to doctor's orders.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Monitoring and recording vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Patient and Family Education: Educating patients and families about health conditions, recovery processes, and disease prevention.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate patient records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaboration: Collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
- Equipment Operation: Operating medical equipment and monitoring patient condition.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintaining clean and well-equipped patient areas.
- Patient Support: Providing emotional support to patients and their families.
