Job Description
A Payroll Processor accurately calculates and disburses employee wages, managing deductions, taxes, and benefits, while maintaining records and ensuring compliance with laws, often using payroll software to handle data entry, address employee queries, and generate reports for HR/Finance. Key tasks include processing timesheets, setting up direct deposits, handling tax filings, and resolving pay discrepancies, requiring strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Collect and verify timecards, calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions (taxes, benefits).
Data Management: Enter and update employee data, new hires, terminations, and salary changes in the payroll system.
Compliance & Taxes: Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation.
Employee Support: Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related questions and issues.
Reporting: Generate various payroll reports for management and accounting.
System Maintenance: Assist with system upgrades and process improvements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
