Position Overview
A Personal Assistant to a Lawyer provides comprehensive administrative, clerical, and operational support to ensure the lawyer’s day-to-day activities run smoothly. The role requires high organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and proficiency in legal documentation.
The PA acts as the primary support person in scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, client coordination, and compliance-related tasks. This role requires multitasking, discretion, and a strong understanding of legal processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Scheduling Support

Manage the lawyer’s calendar, schedule meetings, court appearances, and client consultations.

Send reminders for deadlines, hearings, and important appointments.

Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodation, and logistics for court visits or client meetings.
2. Legal Document Drafting & Management

Draft legal documents, notices, letters, and contracts under supervision.

Assist in reviewing and proofreading documents for accuracy and compliance.

Organize and maintain legal files, case documents, and confidential records.
3. Client Coordination & Communication

Act as the point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries promptly.

Coordinate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders regarding meetings, submissions, and legal procedures.

Maintain professional communication, ensuring discretion and confidentiality.
4. Research & Compliance Assistance

Assist in basic legal research under guidance, including case references, statutory provisions, and precedent analysis.

Track compliance deadlines, filing requirements, and court procedures.

Maintain logs for ongoing cases, hearings, and compliance tasks.
5. Office & Task Management

Organize office operations, correspondence, and clerical tasks efficiently.

Ensure timely completion of tasks assigned by the lawyer.

Maintain office supplies and coordinate with vendors if required.
