Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fuel Dispensing:

Fill fuel (petrol, diesel, or CNG) into vehicles such as cars, bikes, auto-rickshaws, buses, or trucks as per customer request.

Ensure accurate fuel quantity is filled by reading and monitoring the dispenser meter before and after fueling.

Double-check fuel type before starting filling to avoid mistakes.
-
Stop fueling immediately in case of any unusual smell, spillage, or equipment malfunction.
2. Customer Interaction:
-
Politely greet customers as they arrive at the pump.
-
Confirm the type and quantity of fuel requested.
-
Answer basic customer queries regarding fuel types, prices, or station facilities.

Offer windshield cleaning or check tire pressure when time permits, depending on the station’s services.
3. Handling Payments:
-
Collect payment from customers either in cash, card, or via digital wallets like UPI, Paytm, Google Pay, etc.
-
Issue bills or receipts upon request or as required.
-
Maintain a proper cash balance and report discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.

Ensure secure handling of cash and avoid fraud or miscommunication.
4. Safety and Compliance:
-
Follow all safety procedures during fuel dispensing, including turning off vehicle engines and prohibiting mobile phone use near pumps.

Use protective gear (gloves, mask) especially while handling fuel or CNG.

Immediately report leaks, fire risks, or any abnormal equipment behavior to the manager.

Ensure that fire extinguishers and emergency switches are accessible and functional.
5. CNG Filling Protocol (if applicable):

Follow specific steps for connecting and disconnecting CNG filling nozzles.
-
Monitor pressure gauges and safety valves during CNG filling.
-
Educate customers about turning off ignition and keeping a safe distance during filling.

Never leave the CNG filling station unattended during an active filling process.
6. Station Cleanliness and Equipment Care:

Keep the pump area clean and free from oil spills, wrappers, or debris.
-
Wipe dispensers and nozzles regularly to maintain cleanliness.

Refill windshield cleaning fluid, paper towels, and dustbins as required.

Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor promptly.
7. Inventory Awareness:

Inform the supervisor if fuel levels in underground tanks appear low.

Report any shortages or abnormal consumption patterns observed during shift.
-
Keep a basic understanding of stock availability for lubricants, car care products, or accessories sold at the station.
