Job Description

A petroleum chemist, working within the oil and gas industry, analyzes raw materials, refines them into usable fuels and products, and develops new materials and processes to improve efficiency and safety. Urgently Need Lab Chemist for Oil testing Laboratory.
Knowledge of testing parameter, MS Word & Excel.
Candidate should be Smart, Well dressed & Confident.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory Testing & Chemical Analysis:

Analyze crude oil, fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical samples for composition and quality.
Conduct physical and chemical tests using techniques like GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, and spectroscopy.
Test viscosity, density, flash point, sulfur content, and other properties of petroleum products.

2. Research & Development:

Develop and improve formulations for fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum-based products.
Study chemical reactions and processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Work on biofuels, alternative energy sources, and refining process improvements.

3. Quality Control & Compliance:

Ensure products meet industry standards and regulatory guidelines (ASTM, ISO, API, etc.).
Identify and rectify contaminants or impurities in petroleum samples.
Collaborate with refineries, production teams, and environmental agencies to ensure compliance.

4. Safety & Environmental Considerations:

Follow safety protocols while handling hazardous chemicals.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and suggest eco-friendly alternatives.
Monitor and reduce emissions, waste, and pollutants in petroleum processing.

5. Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare detailed reports on test results, research findings, and compliance data.
Maintain laboratory records and submit findings to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
Assist in patent filings, technical documentation, and innovation proposals.
