Ph.D Enrollment-2019

The Department of Applied Optics and Photonics will be admitting a maximum of five (5) students to the Ph.D. program of the Department, subject to the suitability of the applicants.

Candidates with M. Tech (Optics and Optoelectronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/ Instrumentation or equivalent), M.Sc.(Tech.) in Optics and Optoelectronics, B. Tech. in the relevant field with at least 5 years of R&D experience and M.Sc (in Physics/ Electronics/ Biomedical Instrumentation or equivalent), may apply. The admission process will be in accordance with the Ph.D regulations of the University.

The policy of reservation will apply in accordance with the power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8 of the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutes (Reservation in Admission) Act 2013 (west Ben Act X of 2013).

Students who have cleared UGC/CSIR JRF Examinations/NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil/M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent examinations shall not be required to appear for the Ph.D entrance written test.
