Admission to Ph.D. Program (RET 2019)

Eligibility :  Candidates with the following background may apply for enrollment to the Ph.D. program in the School: M. Tech. or M. E. in IT/CSE/CS/Electronics or equivalent, M. Sc. in Computer and Information Science/CS/Physics/Applied Physics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Bio Informatics/ Biophysics and Molecular Biology or M.C.A or B. Tech./B.E. in IT/CSE/CS/Electronics or equivalent as per the University regulation. The relevant Ph. D. rules for B. Tech./ B.E. students would be applicable as per the University Norm. The candidates having final degree of M.E./M.Tech. , B.Tech. and M.C.A. are to apply for enrollment in the Ph.D. (Tech.) program and the candidates having the final degree of M.Sc. has to enroll for the Ph.D. (Sc.) program. M.C.A. candidates applying for Ph. D. Tech. program would have to follow the same rules applicable for B. Tech./B.E. Candidates for registration. All the relevant rules regarding equivalence of degree obtained from other universities would have to be complied with including endorsement by the Ph. D. committee.

At present 17 Ph.D. students (reservation is applicable as per the West Bengal State Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2013) will be taken, if available.

The syllabus of this examination is the M. Tech. (Information Technology) syllabus of this University including that for all the elective papers. However, those candidates who have already passed UGC/ CSIR(JRF) examinations /NET /SET /SLET /GATE /Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M. Tech./M.E. degree in Information Technology or equivalent examination need not appear at the written examination and can directly appear at the interview.
