Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER)
Kolkata, one of the leading Indian research institutes, is now admitting
international students for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in the fields of
Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and
Statistics, and Physical Sciences. The PhD programme is an introduction to
cutting edge research in both theoretical as well as experimental sciences.
Eligibility : Only foreign nationals can apply. At the time
of admission, the applicants must have a Master's degree in science with a
minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
Funding : Ten PhD Fellowships are available to
international students. Eligible students with receive a fellowship of INR
25,000/- per month for the first two years, and INR 28,000/- per month for the
next three years. This amount is sufficient to cover all expenses.
MHRD Scholarships : Ministry of Human Resource and Development
(MHRD), Government of India, provides scholarships for students from various countries.
ICCR Scholarship : The Indian Council for Cultural Relations
(ICCR) on behalf Government of India offers scholarships and fellowships to
international students wishing to study in India in various programs and
disciplines.
Selection : There will be a shortlisting based on academic credentials. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed online.
