Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispensing & Medication Management

Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients based on doctors’ orders.

Verify dosage, contraindications, interactions, and potential side effects.

Maintain precise records of dispensed drugs and inventory.
2. Patient Counseling & Education
-
Educate patients on correct medication usage, dosage, storage, and potential side effects.

Provide guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and self-care products.

Advise patients on lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and disease management.
3. Inventory & Stock Management
-
Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering and replenishing medicines.

Ensure proper storage conditions, including temperature control and expiry date monitoring.

Maintain compliance with regulatory standards for drug storage and handling.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
-
Ensure compliance with local pharmacy regulations, licensing requirements, and standard operating procedures.

Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and prescription medications.
-
Conduct periodic audits and quality checks to ensure safety and adherence.
5. Collaboration & Clinical Support
-
Work with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
-
Provide input on drug therapy, dosage adjustments, and alternative medications.

Support clinical trials, research, or hospital pharmacy initiatives, if applicable.
6. Health & Safety Practices
-
Educate staff and patients on safe handling of medications.

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
-
Participate in vaccination drives or public health initiatives, if required.
