Job Description
Position Summary
As a Physiotherapist at our centre, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with physical conditions resulting from injury, illness, disability, or aging. You will be responsible for creating and implementing customized treatment plans to improve patients' mobility, strength, and function. A key aspect of this role involves working within our aquatic therapy program, utilizing hydrotherapy techniques to facilitate rehabilitation and pain management.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, empathetic, knowledgeable in both traditional and aquatic physiotherapy techniques, and committed to helping individuals achieve optimal physical health and function.Key Responsibilities
1. Assessment & Diagnosis

Perform comprehensive physical assessments for patients presenting with musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, and post-surgical conditions.

Utilize both subjective and objective methods to evaluate pain, movement, strength, coordination, and balance.

Identify and document treatment goals in alignment with patient needs and clinical guidelines.
2. Treatment Planning & Execution

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using a combination of manual therapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.

Deliver therapy sessions in the clinic as well as in the aquatic therapy pool as appropriate.

Provide education and guidance to patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention, posture correction, and activity modifications.
3. Aquatic Therapy

Lead and conduct aquatic therapy sessions for individuals and groups in a safe and supportive environment.

Monitor patient response to water-based exercises and adjust therapy plans as needed.

Educate patients on the benefits of hydrotherapy and ensure adherence to pool safety protocols.
4. Patient Monitoring & Progress Evaluation

Track patient progress through regular re-assessments and documentation.

Modify treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.

Collaborate with physicians, orthopedists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers for comprehensive care.
5. Administrative Duties & Documentation
-
Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, consent forms, and progress reports.

Ensure all documentation meets clinic and regulatory standards.

Participate in clinic audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
6. Health Education & Promotion
-
Conduct workshops or wellness sessions on injury prevention, ergonomic techniques, and mobility training.

Provide resources and education to empower patients in managing chronic conditions and maintaining health post-recovery.
7. Team Collaboration & Professional Development

Participate in staff meetings, interdisciplinary case discussions, and in-service training.

Stay updated with the latest research, therapy techniques, and clinical best practices.

Assist in mentoring junior physiotherapists, interns, or physiotherapy assistants as needed.
