Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Support:

Assist physiotherapists in delivering treatments and therapies, including physical exercises, mobility training, and pain management techniques.

Support patients during rehabilitation sessions by helping them perform exercises and activities designed to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion.

Monitor patient progress, recording observations of changes in physical abilities, pain levels, and overall condition.

Provide physical assistance to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during exercises, and adjusting treatment as required under the physiotherapist's guidance.

Educate patients on exercises and techniques they can perform independently, reinforcing the physiotherapist's instructions.
Treatment Preparation and Setup:

Prepare treatment areas by cleaning and setting up necessary equipment, including mats, weights, and therapeutic machines.

Assist with the setup and operation of physical therapy equipment such as ultrasound machines, electrical stimulation units, and hot/cold packs, ensuring proper usage and safety.

Maintain accurate records of treatments administered and assist in updating patient files, documenting their progress and any modifications to treatment plans.
Administrative Support and Coordination:

Assist with scheduling patient appointments, managing treatment calendars, and ensuring proper time management within the clinic.

Answer patient inquiries regarding physiotherapy procedures, treatments, and session schedules in a clear and professional manner.

Support the physiotherapist with patient communication and provide reminders for upcoming sessions or follow-up care.

Assist in maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring all patient records are accurately documented in compliance with healthcare privacy regulations.
Locum Responsibilities:

As a Locum, provide temporary coverage in the absence of full-time physiotherapists due to illness, vacation, or other reasons, ensuring continuity of care for patients.

Work across multiple locations or departments within the healthcare organization, adapting to different work environments and patient needs.

Follow established protocols and treatment plans while providing high-quality care during the locum period.

Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and the management team to ensure smooth transitions and consistency in patient care.

Ensure that any ongoing or new cases are properly handed over to the permanent physiotherapy staff at the end of the locum assignment.
Safety and Cleanliness:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area, adhering to infection control standards.

Ensure that all physiotherapy equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained, and calibrated as per safety guidelines.
