Job Description
Job Summary:
The Picker and Packer plays a vital role in warehouse operations, responsible for accurately selecting products from inventory and preparing them for shipment to customers or stores. This role requires attention to detail, speed, and organizational skills to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and efficiently.
The position is suitable for individuals who are physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Picking

Review picking lists or electronic pick sheets on handheld scanners or printed forms

Locate and pick products accurately from warehouse shelves or storage areas based on order details

Verify quantities and product codes to ensure order accuracy

Handle products carefully to avoid damage or loss during picking
2. Packing Orders

Pack picked products securely using appropriate packaging materials (boxes, bubble wrap, tape, pallets)
-
Label packages clearly with customer information, shipping labels, and barcodes
-
Ensure packed orders meet company standards and customer expectations for presentation and protection

Follow specific packing instructions for fragile, perishable, or hazardous items
3. Inventory Management Support

Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or stock shortages to the warehouse supervisor

Assist with routine inventory counts and stock replenishment activities

Maintain cleanliness and organization of picking and packing areas
-
Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), or conveyor belts
4. Quality Assurance

Conduct visual inspections to check product quality before packing
-
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
-
Assist in identifying process improvements to optimize picking and packing efficiency
5. Documentation & Reporting

Complete necessary paperwork or electronic logs related to order fulfillment

Maintain records of packed orders, returns, or damaged goods as required

Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and shipping teams
Key Skills:

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Physical ability to stand, lift, carry, and move packages up to 20-30 kg frequently

Basic understanding of packaging materials and methods

Ability to read and interpret packing slips, barcodes, and order sheets

Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and PPE usage

Team player with good communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet daily order targets

Basic computer skills for scanning and logging orders (preferred)
