Job Summary
A Picker/Packer is responsible for selecting, packing, and preparing orders for shipment in a warehouse or retail environment. This role involves handling inventory, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintaining workplace cleanliness. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, physically fit, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Picking & Packing:
- Pick items from shelves according to customer orders.
- Pack products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Label packages correctly and ensure they match shipping requirements.
2. Inventory Management:
- Check product availability and report stock shortages.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory storage.
- Conduct stock checks and update records.
3. Quality Control & Inspection:
- Inspect products for defects or damages before packing.
- Ensure orders meet company quality standards.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors.
4. Shipping & Logistics Support:
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments.
- Work with shipping personnel to ensure timely dispatch.
- Maintain documentation for shipments and deliveries.
5. Workplace Safety & Cleanliness:
- Follow safety procedures while handling goods and equipment.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
- Operate tools and machines (if required) safely.
