Key Responsibilities

Database Development:

Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL code to handle complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.

Write efficient SQL queries to interact with large datasets and ensure optimal database performance.

Develop and implement SQL-based data manipulation operations including insert, update, delete, and select statements.

Database Architecture:

Participate in database design sessions, contributing to the design of database schemas, tables, and relationships.

Design and develop normalized and de-normalized database structures for better performance and scalability.

Ensure the database design is scalable and accommodates future business requirements.

Data Modeling and Analysis:

Collaborate with business analysts and developers to translate business requirements into database structures and functionality.

Perform data analysis and work with the team to design the data model that best supports the application needs.

Identify opportunities to streamline database operations and reduce redundancy.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

Continuously monitor and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code to improve database performance.

Utilize techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and caching to speed up query execution.

Conduct query optimization and provide recommendations for performance enhancements.

Database Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues that impact application performance, data integrity, or functionality.

Work on database backups, recovery, and data migration tasks.

Ensure high availability and security of databases by implementing best practices for database management.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

Perform unit testing of PL/SQL code to ensure the correctness and efficiency of database scripts and queries.

Collaborate with quality assurance (QA) teams to ensure that database functionality meets specified requirements.

Identify, report, and resolve issues during testing phases and provide fixes in a timely manner.

Documentation and Reporting:

Create and maintain clear and detailed documentation for database design, queries, procedures, and performance optimization techniques.

Provide reports on the status of ongoing database development and maintenance activities.

Document and communicate changes to the database architecture and data structures to stakeholders.

Collaborate with other developers, data engineers, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration between databases and applications.

Support front-end development teams by providing necessary back-end database services, such as API integrations or data retrieval.

Implement database security policies, including access controls, user roles, and data encryption.
