Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Planning Engineer with 1 to 2 years of experience in the construction or infrastructure sector. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge in AutoCAD drafting, quantity take-off from drawings, and billing work related to civil engineering projects.
The Planning Engineer will assist in preparing project timelines, monitoring progress, ensuring cost and quantity accuracy, and supporting site execution teams with timely and accurate data. The role is crucial for ensuring smooth coordination between engineering, procurement, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

Assist in creating and updating project timelines and construction schedules using MS Project or Primavera (if applicable).

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work programs in consultation with the site team.

Monitor progress on-site and align actual vs planned timelines.

Identify deviations and provide inputs for corrective actions.
2. AutoCAD Drafting and Drawing Review:

Read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings and layout plans using AutoCAD.

Generate working drawings, quantity sheets, and detail designs as required by site or billing teams.

Coordinate with design engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies or clarifications.
3. Quantity Take-off / Quantity Surveying:

Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and specifications.

Prepare accurate material requirement sheets and comparison reports.

Assist in verifying and certifying contractor/subcontractor bills as per executed work.

Maintain quantity logs and reconcile with site execution progress.
4. Billing and Documentation:

Prepare RA Bills, Subcontractor Bills, and client billing documents.

Ensure all billing is supported with proper measurement sheets, drawings, and approvals.

Track billing progress and follow up for approval and payment status.

Maintain billing records for audits, internal reviews, and client submission.
5. Coordination and Reporting:

Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, and consultants for accurate planning and reporting.

Generate daily progress reports (DPR), weekly progress updates, and MIS reports.

Maintain planning logs, approval trackers, and billing schedules.
Technical Skills:

AutoCAD – Strong proficiency in 2D drafting and reading civil drawings.

MS Excel – Good working knowledge for preparing measurement and billing sheets.

MS Project or Primavera (basic level) – For planning and scheduling (training or awareness acceptable).

Quantity Take-off Tools – Manual or digital measurement techniques using drawings and specifications.

Familiarity with IS Codes and standard industry practices for quantity computation and billing.
