Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our maintenance and facilities team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This includes water supply and drainage systems, fixtures, fittings, piping networks, and associated equipment.
The Plumber should be knowledgeable in reading blueprints, working with plumbing tools and machinery, and adhering to safety regulations and building codes. The role requires both preventive and reactive maintenance and may include responding to plumbing emergencies, performing inspections, and supporting renovations or construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation of Plumbing Systems:

Install and configure plumbing systems including pipes, valves, drainage systems, water heaters, faucets, toilets, and water meters.

Assemble, install, and test pipes and fittings for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids or gases.

Interpret blueprints and building plans to determine plumbing layout and materials required.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:

Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues such as leaks, blockages, corrosion, or malfunctioning components.

Repair and replace broken or worn parts including pipe sections, valves, faucets, and fixtures.

Perform preventive maintenance to ensure long-term functionality and efficiency of systems.
3. Emergency Response:

Respond to urgent plumbing issues like pipe bursts, severe leaks, clogged drains, or equipment failures.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime and water damage.

Be available for on-call duty or overtime when needed, especially during maintenance emergencies.
4. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant local and national building codes and safety regulations.

Use proper safety gear and tools, and follow safety procedures while working in confined spaces or at heights.

Properly seal and insulate pipes and plumbing systems to prevent leaks and improve efficiency.
5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked.

Provide reports on completed jobs, outstanding issues, and recommendations for system upgrades.

Assist with creating maintenance schedules and materials lists for ongoing projects.
6. Collaboration and Support:

Coordinate with electricians, carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other tradespeople as required during installation or repair work.

Support construction and remodeling teams in building new bathrooms, kitchens, or utility areas with correct plumbing installations.

Communicate with supervisors, clients, and vendors regarding repair needs, parts availability, and system status.
