Job Description
IIT(ISM), Dhanbad invites application for the post of PDF in Central Research Facility (CRF), particularly for functioning of instruments related to mechanical characterizations such as Universal Tribometer, Microhardness tester, UTM.
1. Post Name: Post Doctoral Fellow
2. Eligibility Requirements:
i. PhD degree with Science/Engineering background and should have hands-on experience of the above-mentioned instruments as well as analysis of acquired data. Candidate must be able to provide support for operating and maintaining the instruments
ii. PhD holders (within 5 years of completion of PhD) with at least two papers in Journals of repute (SCI/SCIE or Q1/Q2)
iii. PhD holders of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad will be eligible to apply after two years from the date of award of PhD
3. Role and Responsibilities: Postdoc members will be assigned solely to the CRF labs and not to any advisor. Postdoc members may collaborate with any faculty member of the institute to pursue instrumental based research. However, timeshare in this activity should not be more than 20% of the office time
4. Consolidated Fellowship per month (Inclusive of all):
1st Year: Rs. 60000.00
2nd Year: Rs. 63000.00
3rd Year: Rs. 66150.00
5. The fellowship includes the compensation towards accommodation. No other allowances shall be admissible.
6. A contingency grant of Rs.75000.00 PDFs may be allowed to attend Conferences subject to availability of Fund in their contingency grant.
7. Medical benefits: PDF and his/her spouse and children residing with him/her at Dhanbad may avail medical facility which are available in the Health Centre of the Institute. No referral facility shall be admissible. No reimbursement of medical bills shall be admissible.
8. Leave: 30 days leave with fellowship will be provided per year. The leave can be availed on a pro rata basis of the fellowship completed.
9. A PDF may be granted maternity/paternity leave for a period as per government policy. Leave up to 6 weeks can also be granted for miscarriage including medical termination of pregnancy, if supported by a proper medical certificate. Such leave can be combined with any other leave due and will not entail any loss of financial assistant ship.
Age Limit:
Maximum age is 35 years (to be relaxed as per Government of India guideline).
