Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Planning & Teaching

Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the school’s pre-primary curriculum (e.g., Montessori, Playway, Kindergarten methods, or a blend).

Create daily and weekly lesson plans, incorporating literacy, numeracy, sensory activities, physical development, art, and music.

Use storytelling, rhymes, play, and hands-on activities to enhance concept understanding.

Maintain a balance of structured learning and free play time to develop children’s social and cognitive skills.
2. Classroom Management
-
Establish a warm, friendly, and safe classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Manage small group or whole-class activities effectively, ensuring active participation from all children.

Ensure student behavior is managed through gentle and developmentally appropriate discipline techniques.

Maintain classroom cleanliness, decoration, and resource organization to stimulate child curiosity and focus.
3. Child Development & Assessment
-
Observe and document individual child development in cognitive, motor, emotional, and language areas.

Maintain student portfolios and update progress reports on a regular basis.

Identify any developmental delays or behavioral issues early and communicate with parents and school authorities.

Support holistic development, including emotional expression, confidence building, and empathy.
4. Parent Communication & Engagement
-
Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) to discuss student progress, challenges, and strengths.

Provide weekly updates to parents through diaries, emails, or digital tools as per school policy.

Be responsive to parental concerns, offering support and guidance when required.

Encourage parent participation in school events, celebrations, and learning activities.
5. Collaboration & Professionalism
-
Work closely with co-teachers, assistants, and academic staff to maintain teaching continuity and classroom coordination.

Attend regular staff meetings, workshops, training sessions, and professional development programs.

Participate in school events, annual day functions, festivals, field trips, and other extracurricular activities.

Follow school policies, ethical standards, and maintain high levels of professionalism in conduct and appearance.
