JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Product Development Specialist II handles product development duties for an organization. This position will provide technical advice and support to customers and field staff during and after the sale of scientific products. You will support senior staff and leaders for ideation and identifies and implements technical solutions against business objectives. You will stay current with literature and analytical advancements and work with limited supervision on daily tasks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

You will stay current with literature and analytical advancements and work with limited supervision on daily tasks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Works with technical service partners to identify customer needs and translate these into new product development opportunities.
- Develops, implements, and tests procedures needed to build products efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Tracks product issues and reports data to product development teams and prepares scientific reports or datasheets detailing the organization's products and their applications.
- Manages the design of products and recommends production methods.
- Conducts and organizes all project plans, resources, and take part in project execution.
- Ensures projects are achievable and align with procedural standards.
- Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to new team members.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the application of analytical instrumentation principles, concepts, practices and standards
- Minimum of 5 to 9 years of related work experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
- Master's degree
- Intermediate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with large projects extending over a period of time
- Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, and cost
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively as an individual and in a team environment
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Results oriented with emotional intelligence, energetic, good influencing skills
- Experience conducting work in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in facilitation of Continuous Improvement events such as Kaizen, Six Sigma or Lean processes.
