Job Description
During a shift, to supervise overall plant work as to material inward- outward, production, operation and maintenance. He should utilise his engineering and administration experience and take care of smooth & continuous running of the plant. He has to be responsible for achieving the targets.
Qualification- Diploma/Degree- Mechanical/Electrical, Chemical preference.
Minimum 4-5 years production & operation experience
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shift Supervision and Plant Operations:

Supervise all plant activities during the assigned shift, including production, maintenance, material movement, and housekeeping.

Ensure the smooth and continuous running of all machines and equipment involved in production.

Monitor workforce performance and provide clear instructions to operators and technicians for effective task execution.
2. Production Management:
-
Ensure production processes are running as per daily and monthly targets.

Follow the production plan, monitor output, and take corrective actions to address any delays or bottlenecks.

Report shift-wise production status to the Production Manager or higher authorities at the end of the shift.
3. Material Handling and Inventory:

Supervise material inward and outward movement, ensuring raw materials, tools, and finished goods are handled properly.

Coordinate with the store and logistics teams for timely supply of materials to the production floor.

Maintain proper documentation and records of material consumption, scrap generation, and WIP (work in progress).
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Ensure that machines are operating efficiently and safely during the shift.

Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule and carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Identify potential faults or inefficiencies in machines and address them proactively to prevent downtime.
5. Quality Assurance and Process Control:

Monitor product quality during production and ensure that processes adhere to prescribed specifications and standards.

Work with the quality control team to address deviations, reduce rejections, and maintain consistent quality output.

Implement corrective actions when quality issues arise and prevent recurrence.
6. Safety, Compliance, and Cleanliness:

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations during the shift.

Conduct safety checks and ensure all employees follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

Maintain overall cleanliness, hygiene, and 5S practices on the production floor.
7. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain shift logs including details of production, downtime, machine usage, manpower deployment, and safety issues.

Submit daily and weekly reports to management with data and observations related to performance, challenges, and improvements.

Support internal audits and participate in compliance reviews as required.
8. Team Coordination and Leadership:

Guide and motivate shift operators, fitters, helpers, and other plant staff to maximize efficiency and output.

Address personnel issues, ensure discipline, and promote teamwork on the production floor.

Support employee training and development in production techniques and safety protocols.
