Production Planning Manager
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Position: Production Planning Manager
Experience: 6–12 Years
Industry: Manufacturing / Automotive / Engineering
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Production Planning Manager to manage production planning, scheduling, material availability, and coordination between production, purchase, stores, quality, and dispatch teams. The candidate should have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning systems.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand and business requirements.
Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time production and delivery.
Check availability of raw materials, components, manpower, machines, and other resources.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams.
Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
Monitor production targets, capacity utilization, and productivity.
Prepare and maintain MIS reports, production reports, and planning dashboards.
Track inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability.
Coordinate with the purchase team for timely procurement of materials.
Handle capacity planning and production forecasting.
Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure smooth material flow.
Analyse production variances and implement improvement measures.
Support ERP/MRP-based production planning and maintain planning-related data.
Ensure production plans are aligned with customer delivery commitments.
Lead and guide the production planning team.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
Good understanding of MRP / ERP systems such as SAP.
Knowledge of capacity planning, inventory control, MRP, BOM and scheduling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet production deadlines.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate
Experience in automotive, auto components, engineering, or manufacturing industries preferred.
Candidates with experience in high-volume production environments will be preferred.
Strong experience in PPC, MRP and production scheduling is required.
