Job Description

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Department: Production/Shop Floor
Supervise shop floor workers during production of fan guards.

Record hourly production data

Check and Record dimensions of parts coming off the line every hour.

Ensure work is done as per quality standards.

Report daily production and any issue to management

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day production activities to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Assign tasks to workers based on production plans, priorities, and skill sets.
- Monitor the performance of equipment and personnel to meet daily production goals.
Team Leadership
- Manage a team of machine operators, assemblers, technicians, and helpers.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and motivation to production staff to ensure high levels of performance.
- Resolve worker conflicts, promote teamwork, and foster a safe and respectful work environment.
Production Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate with production planners and warehouse managers to ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and components.
- Interpret and implement work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Adjust workflow schedules and resources as needed to meet production targets or respond to delays.
Quality Control
- Ensure that all manufactured products meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor inspection processes and conduct quality checks at various stages of production.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
Workplace Safety and Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies, workplace hygiene, and regulatory compliance on the shop floor.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, ensure use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and address hazards immediately.
- Organize safety drills and ensure all workers are trained in safe work practices.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of production volumes, downtime, inventory usage, labor efficiency, and machine performance.
- Prepare shift reports, production summaries, and submit them to management as required.
- Document maintenance needs, incidents, or quality deviations.
Equipment and Maintenance Oversight
- Monitor the proper functioning of machinery and equipment.
- Report malfunctions to the maintenance team and ensure timely repairs to avoid production disruptions.
- Assist in preventive maintenance planning and equipment upgrades.
Training and Skill Development
- Train new workers on production processes, machine operations, and safety standards.
- Support cross-training efforts to ensure workforce flexibility and versatility.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend development programs for team members.
