Job Description
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Production Supervisor to manage our timber and wood processing unit based in Jawaharnagar, Padana, Gandhidham, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing production operations, maintaining quality control, monitoring quantity outputs, ensuring smooth workflow, and coordinating with the production team to achieve daily and monthly targets.
This role requires a person with hands-on experience in production supervision, preferably from the timber, wood, plywood, or related manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Supervision

Supervise the daily production operations of the timber processing unit.

Plan production schedules to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

Ensure the availability of raw materials, manpower, and machinery before production starts.

Assign tasks and monitor the performance of operators and production staff.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
-
Inspect raw materials, in-process work, and finished goods to maintain high product quality standards.

Identify defects, damages, or deviations during production and take corrective action immediately.

Ensure all products meet industry specifications, customer requirements, and safety guidelines.

Coordinate with the quality control team for periodic product testing and inspections.
3. Quantity & Output Monitoring

Keep track of the daily production output and compare it with the set targets.

Minimize wastage and optimize resource utilization for higher production efficiency.

Maintain proper documentation of production quantities, rejects, and reworks.
4. Machine & Equipment Management

Oversee the operation and maintenance of machinery used in cutting, shaping, and finishing timber.

Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs.

Ensure regular servicing and calibration of production machines for smooth operations.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead a team of machine operators, helpers, and laborers on the shop floor.

Train and guide new employees on production techniques, safety measures, and quality parameters.

Motivate team members to achieve production targets and deadlines.

Coordinate with warehouse, purchase, and dispatch teams for seamless workflow.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to safety regulations and operational protocols on the shop floor.

Conduct toolbox talks and educate workers about workplace safety practices.

Maintain a clean and hazard-free production environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical Skills

Knowledge of timber, plywood, veneer, or wood processing operations.

Familiarity with cutting machines, hydraulic presses, grinders, sanding, and finishing tools.

Understanding of production planning, process optimization, and quality parameters.

Ability to troubleshoot production-related issues quickly and effectively.
2. Leadership & Team Management Skills

Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage production staff effectively.

Ability to handle pressure, resolve conflicts, and maintain harmony on the shop floor.
3. Communication Skills

Good communication in Hindi, Gujarati, and basic English.
