 Reader /Research Officer recruitment in Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT),

I. Professor cum Deputy Director / 3 (All Unreserved)

Qualification: A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Indian language and literature and published work or high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and/or research/ policy papers.

ii. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College and/ or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. iii. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.

iv. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010. OR B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

Pay Scale : PB4 (37400- 67000) Grade Pay 10,000(AGP)

Age: Not more than 50 years as on closing date for receipt of application

2. Reader cum Research Officer/No.of Posts: (5 UR, 1 OBC)

Qualification:  i.Good academic record with a Ph.D degree in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or Psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Indian Language and Literature. ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institutions/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D research with evidence of published work and a minimum of five publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

iv Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator(API) based performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010.

vi. Proficiency in any Indian Language as a subject at the secondary school level in the case of Master of Arts in Linguistics or Comparative Philology or as a subject at the degree level in the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology. (In the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology, the teaching/research experience must be in language oriented topics.

Pay Scale :  PB3 (15600- 39100) Grade Pay Rs.8000 (AGP)

Age: Not exceeding 40 years as on closing date of applications.

3. Lecturer - cum - Junior Research Officer/4  (3 UR, 1OBC) 

Qualification: i. Good academic record with a Ph.D degree in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or Psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Geography or Indian Language and Literature with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.

ii.In addition to fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii.Notwithstanding anything contained in (i) and (ii) above, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the UGC’s Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D degree Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment to this post. iv.NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. iv.Proficiency in any Indian Language as a subject at the secondary school level in the case of Master of Arts in Linguistics or Comparative Philology or as a subject at the degree level in the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology. (In the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology, the teaching/research experience must be in language oriented topics. vi. Two years experience in teaching/research.

Pay Scale: PB3-(15600- 39100) Grade Pay 6000 (AGP) 

Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
