Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

To design an efficient Geographical information system and Data Management System that can be used for habitat planning and executing reliable and effective decision-making process in any emergency or disaster
To support Planning and Building team to conduct base-line survey for identification and feasibility of suitable land, create spatial maps and provide support for planning
To contribute to requirements of programmes in Planning and Building and Emergency Management departments for creating integrated approach
To coordinate with Govt. agencies, local and local/international NGOs, Geospatial platform and AKDN agencies to explore, evaluate and integrate reliable and relevant spatial and non-spatial data
To coordinate with the senior management and cross function team to analyse and fulfil the organisational GIS and data related needs
To lead the assessment of the hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment (HVRA) and preparation of disaster management plan through GIS and related data analysis
To Design spatial & non-spatial data infrastructure and customize software (online / offline) for data collection, management and analysis using SQL Server, Ms Access, Visual Studio, Android mobile platform, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and Manifold GIS.
To create and manage versioning data and perform trend analysis
To develop training module, procedure & methodology of data collection, validatation and analysis in accordance to the best practices
To train and mentor departmental and cross functional professionals which enables them to perform various tasks such as spatial & non spatial data collection, digitization, data conversation, data cleaning, data validation, prepare various map/analysis based on cartographic & SDI standard.
To generate and document various analysis periodically in the form of maps and statistics which can help Emergency and Planning & Building department to plan and implement relevant programs effectively
To ensure the procedure and methodology of data collection to generate final output is in compliance with security policy of the organization
To establish linkages with government and other agencies for increasing scale and scope of operations through provision of expert services
To use information and data to recommend, design and develop/ identify appropriate technology based Early Warning System & automated alerts
To design Knowledge Management System for structural and non-structural data.
To prepare regular status reports, highlight GIS related issues requiring attention
To establish and manage logical frameworks, M&E work plans, key performance indicators and targets with consultation of program team
To monitor project progress, lead/support project evaluation and ensure accurate updates related to program performance are shared with senior management and partners/donors in a timely manner
Ensure that implementation of field activities adheres to AKAH’s monitoring & evaluation system
To Overall control on IT infrastructure, create a robust data and IT security policy and ensure its adherence.
Assist in emergencies at the time of disaster
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level on need basis.
