Project Assistant Bioinformatics job vacancy in Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc)
DST project: 'Computational methods for integrating next generation sequencing data into genome-scale metabolic models'.
Qualification: B.Tech./M.Sc. in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics from a reputed institution in addition to the specific requirements described below. Final year students of B.Tech. /M.Sc. are also eligible to apply but selection will be subject to their being able to pass and produce their mark sheets or certificate before the start of the position.
Desirable: Specific requirements for the position . The selected candidate will work with Dr. Areejit Samal on a project whose goal is to develop better constraint-based modeling methods to integrate next generation RNA - seq and ChIP-seq data into the FBA models of available genome-scale metabolic networks. The candidate should necessarily have a background in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics. Prior knowledge of analysis of biological networks and next generation sequencing datasets is desirable.
