Job Description

DBT funded network project “Exploitation of genomic resources for improvement of niger (Guizotia abyssinica L.F. Cass) through breeding and biotechnological tools'

Junior Research Fellow (01)

Pay Scale:  Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35000/- + 24% HRA 3 rd year onward

Essential qualification: Master's degree in Agriculture/ Botany/ Seed Physiology/ Genetics/Plant Genetic Resources/ Seed Science and Technology/ Life sciences/ with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. OR Post-graduate degree in above mentioned subjects with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree with NET/GATE qualifications.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in handling seeds with knowledge in seed science and technology related work. Knowledge of computers and data management. 

Upper age limit: 35 years

Pay Scale: Rs. 20000/- + 24% HRA 

Essential qualification: Graduation in Botany/ Agriculture/Seed Physiology/ Seed science and technology/ Genetics/ Computer Science or equivalent.

, etc.

About Company

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set.
