5. IITB Project Recruitment: Project title: Longitudinal effects of Air Pollution Exposures on Lung growth anddevelopment of biomarker of lung function deficit in Urban Children
6. About the project: This multi-centric, multi-partner DBT-Wellcome Trust India Alliance funded project has following aims
a. to conduct a longitudinal, prospective cohort study to measure the growth of lung function in schoolchildren (age 11 to 14 years), over a period of 5 years, residing in Mumbai,
b. to assess the long-term exposures of air pollution in schools and homes of the children in four cities including Mumbai, and
c. to study the association between air pollution and lung function in children and examine the individual and community level factors modifying their association. The study involves field monitoring, laboratory chemical analysis, conducting spirometry, biosamples (blood, urine, hair and nails) collection and structured questionnaire surveys in Mumbai.
7. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Post Graduate degree in Basic Science/ Arts/ Social Work with 2 years of experience in conducting social work or community health assessment
8. Desirable: Candidates with prior experience in spirometry assessment or training in asthma/COPD assessment and working in a national/ international project will be preferred. Candidates with fluency in Marathi and Hindi will be a huge advantage. Willingness and commitment to work in a diverse team of professionals to achieve the project targets in a timely manner
9. Job Profile: Logistic planning of field campaigns and conducting questionnaire surveys and health assessment in schools in Mumbai. Conducting spirometry and health assessment of the selected subjects. Data entry, data consolidation and analysis, and report preparation using MS office.
10. Pay Details: Level PR A2: Salary range from Rs.14400 - Rs. 31200 + Rs.3125.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
