Job Description

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Project Assistant Microbiology in ICMR funded Multi-Institution Project “An investigational study on Mycobacteriophages and their enzymes as new drugs (IND) for treating tuberculosis”.

No. of position: One

Eligibility: M.Sc. Microbiology/Biomedical Science/Life Science/Biotechnology or related
fields/ MTech in Biotechnology or equivalent degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. SC/ST candidates are required to have 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

Desirable qualifications: Practical knowledge of basic microbiological techniques, handling of Mycobacterium and bacteriophages, maintaining of microbial culture stocks, recombinant DNA technology, protein purification and basic understanding of bioinformatics tools for genome analysis.NET/GATE qualified candidate will be given preference.

Duration: Initially for one year, extendable for up to two more years based on the performance of candidate. Fellowship is co-terminus with the project (October 2022).

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- per month consolidated

Age limit: Upper age limit 28 years, relax able for SC/ST/OBC and women candidates as per Government of India rules.

Please note: Candidate may also be considered for registration in Ph.D. program with the
University of Delhi by the PI.
