National Bureau of plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) invites application for the position Project Associate I
Project 2: Germplasm Characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat using Genomics Approaches and its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity and Nutritional quality
Sub Project-3: Evaluation of wheat germplasm for abiotic stresses

Essential qualification:
I. Master's Degree in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Physiology
II. ICAR/CSIR/UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in Phenotyping/ Data handling/ Data analysis
Salary: Rs.31000 +24% HRA for first 2 years and Project Associate- II Rs. 35000 + HRA for 3rd year onward Rs.25000 +24% HRA (who were not qualified NET/GATE/any other national level exam)
Project period: March 2021 -Feb 2024

i) Master's Degree in Biochemistry, Applied/analytic chemistry/ Food Chemistry from a recognized University
(ii) ICAR/CSIR/UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and
Desirable Qualification: Experience of working in food chemistry laboratory
Salary: Rs.31000 +24% HRA for first 2 years and Rs. 35000 + 24% HRA for 3rd year onwards Rs.25000 +24% HRA (who were not qualified NET/GATE/any other national level exam)
Project period: March 2021 -Feb 2024

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set.
