Sikkim University invites application for the position Project Associate
Project: The Chemical Ecology of the L-DOPA containing Plants and Their Interaction with the Herbivores
No of Post: 02
Qualification:
a) First-class M.Sc. in Botany/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biosciences/Biochemistry or any other relevant branch of the Life Sciences. Previous experience in chemical ecology research and hands-on experience in handling insects/analytical instruments/plant secondary metabolites /bioinformatics and molecular biology tools will be an advantage.
b) The project involves regular traveling in the North Eastern region of India for sample collection, and to the collaborating institutes at Bangalore and New Delhi for assisting their research works. NET/GATE qualified candidates will be given a preference.
Emolument:
a) Project Associate (Candidates with CSIR-NET including lectureship, GATE, or equivalent only): Rs. 31,000+HRA (for two years) and 35,000+HRA (from third year onwards).
b) Project Assistant (Candidates without NET or equivalent): Rs. 20,000+HRA (consolidated).
Duration of the appointment: 3 years starting from 1 April 2021. Candidates will be initially appointed for six months with a likley opportunity for renewal (following satisfactory performance) until the end of the project. All appointments are co-terminus with the the project.
