Project Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination
-
Collaborate with the Project Manager and design team to understand project requirements, specifications, and deliverables

Prepare and monitor project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and timelines using tools like MS Project or Primavera
-
Allocate resources (manpower, equipment, materials) and update the project execution plan as required
-
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow
2. Technical Oversight
-
Review technical drawings, designs, and specifications to ensure compliance with project scope and regulatory standards
-
Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering issues during execution
-
Supervise site engineers and technicians to ensure proper implementation of work
-
Conduct inspections and testing to verify workmanship and material quality
3. Budget & Cost Monitoring
-
Assist in preparing BOQs, estimating project costs, and tracking budgets
-
Monitor cost control measures and prevent cost overruns by identifying inefficiencies early
-
Validate vendor bills, progress claims, and contractor invoices against work completed
4. Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain accurate documentation including site reports, daily progress reports (DPRs), quality records, and change orders
-
Update management on project status, risks, and milestones achieved
-
Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and regulatory requirements
5. Health, Safety, and Compliance
-
Ensure work is carried out in compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and legal standards
-
Conduct site audits and safety briefings for workers
-
Report near-misses and incidents and participate in safety investigations
Required Skills & Competencies:

Solid understanding of construction or engineering project workflows
-
Strong knowledge of technical specifications, design interpretation, and regulatory standards
-
Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project management tools
-
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
-
Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
