Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) invites application for the position Project Executive Officer

About the Project:

i. In this project, we focus on audio-based content retrieval, where the query is an audio or text, and the search content is in audio. We will be developing state-of-the-art technologies using deep learning methods for various tasks such as

a. Audio Event Detection

b. Acoustic Scene Classification

c. Few shot learning

ii. The responsibilities for the said role include:

a. Developing state-of-the-art retrieval systems

b. Supervising the data annotation team and developing/selecting tools they will need for annotation and validation of data

c. Publishing research papers in top conferences and journals

d. Writing technical reports

e. Working with Prasar Bharati team for seamless deployment of the system

Salary Range: - Rs. 42000-3500-105000

Essential Qualification: PhD/Master’s or equivalent degree in Audio Technology, Signal Processing, Computer Science, or relevant area (candidates who have submitted their thesis can also apply)

Desired Qualification:

a. PhD or equivalent degree in Audio Technology, Signal Processing, Computer Science, or relevant area (candidates who have submitted their thesis can also apply)

b. A strong background in machine learning, signal processing, statistics, applied mathematics, optimization, linear algebra

c. Working experience with

d. deep learning platforms such as Tensorflow and Pytorch,

e. Python, C++ and Linux environment

f. Experience with handling large datasets

g. Strong publication record in top academic conferences and journals

h. Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, organizational skills and close attention to detail

i. Ability to solve problems independently and work well as part of a team
